Deliberate Luxury

I live and work in the city, but I’ve never forgotten my childhood summers at my family's temple in Japan or growing up between the forest and the sea in Santa Cruz. My aesthetic has been shaped the same way, a combination of my Japanese heritage and modern style.

I find my inspiration in the subtle palette of nature, the deliberate minimalism of my tradition, and the city sunset I see every night from my design studio window. I translate these inspirations into pattern, color, and beautiful environments.

Decorative Pillows
Our textiles are hand–dyed, etched, and painted one at a time. No two are alike and each celebrates the botanicals that inspired them. Touch them and you will feel how each branch, leaf, and blossom is engraved deeply with exquisite detail exactly as they would be in nature.

Our award-winning pillows are hand–sewn, lined in silk, and backed in silk dupioni.

Modern Heirlooms
Our glassware is special because it celebrates rich colors, textures, and dimension. Ancient golds, chromed silvers, dusted bronzes, flame reds and copper patinas add a feeling of ornament to each unique piece.

Hand–made through a three day layering process which includes silk–screening, metallic leafing and hand–painting, our collection of vases, votive holders and other accessories are designed to compliment one another in pattern, shape, and color.

All patterns are available in all glass shapes. You can mix and match to suit your environment.

letter of introduction

In the eight years since Aviva Stanoff opened her textile design studio in New York City, she has been providing her clients in the Interior and Design world with rich textures, organic color and the utmost quality.
The centerpiece of Stanoff’s home product collection is a series of unique and innovative surface designs, which unmistakably mark the work as Stanoff’s. The product line targets a distinctive consumer interested in a sophisticated handmade product for their environment.

Beginning her business exclusively as a textile designer, Stanoff built her career upon persistently innovating her craft, which has resulted in a growing respect from the home and fashion industries. Among her many honors, Stanoff was recently chosen as “Best New Product” at this years New York Home International Home Textiles show, as well as “Most Beautiful Product” at the inaugural year of Brooklyn Designs show, and was a finalist in The Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award for Home Design.

Stanoff’s unique printing techniques for textiles have been transformed into a new surface embellishment for this season’s glassware, tableware and soft accessories. The new infused glass, treated wood and dyed velvet and silk products are a fusion of sophisticated fabric printing and dyeing techniques and the most luxurious home materials: silks, velvets, leathers and glass. The home products are entirely hand printed and manufactured to order by Stanoff’s in-house staff in her Brooklyn design studio.

Each one-of-a-kind piece is laboriously handcrafted with unwavering attention to design and detail as traditional textile embellishments meet cutting-edge surface treatments. Textiles are hand-dyed, etched and painted one at a time. No two are alike and each celebrates the botanicals and other objects of nature that inspired them.

Her attention to detail is not limited to just the product, but extends to her clients as well. Aviva Stanoff offers not only an established line of products, but also custom work and licensing. Product offerings can be tailored to suit a customer’s needs and occasions. Perhaps a love letter vase created with a personalized love letter for the bride? Or a custom group of pillows can be arranged for a special client’s room? Whatever the needs, her studio can meet them through personal consultation and custom work.
Stanoff’s design clientele includes: Christian Dior Couture, Givenchy Couture, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein Home, Yabu Pushelberg, The Rockwell Group, Gensler and Associates, Takashimaya, and Barney’s New York, among others.

statement of purpose

Most of my life has been spent balanced between two worlds: the traditional simplicity of a Japanese temple and the majesty of the old growth redwoods of Northern California. My vision was filled with pure earth, ladybug nests, wild thistle, unnamed berries and secret forests.

The city has its own rhythm. If you catch it with the right eye, an apartment building will turn into a seaside cliff covered in bird caves. With the right ear, the cacophony of cars down Fifth Avenue will sound like the rumbling of a mountain stream.

My heritage and the natural settings I grew up in compel me to view the city as organic, like the subway violinist who is compelled to play, not for small change, but to hear the strains of her music weave between the concrete forest and glass cliffs.

My home collection is my vision of this union: the beauty of tradition, nature and the city. They are the focus of my designer’s eye. My efforts, I hope, can begin to express my gratitude to those ancient trees, the Japanese aesthetic of calm and simplicity and the urban inspiration that surrounds me now.
